Master’s Preparation

Designed for university graduates looking to further their studies abroad, this programme of 10-20 weeks helps students brush up not only on their English language skills, but also research methodology, project and group work, all critical for postgraduate-level scholarship. Entry is then guaranteed to an NCUK university partner, offering a seamless transition.

The NCUK advantage

The Northern Consortium UK has for nearly half a century acted as a bridge between East and West, bringing international students to leading universities. Their foundational programmes, taught at partner institutes around the world including AIHM, equip students for study and life overseas, with guaranteed entry to one of 30+ NCUK university partners upon completion.

FAQs

What is the NCUK Master’s Preparation (MP) programme?

The Master’s Preparation (MP) is a short academic and English preparation course for students who plan to study for a Master’s degree abroad.

It helps students strengthen research, critical thinking, and academic communication skills needed for success in postgraduate study at universities in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of undergraduate study.

The MP is ideal for students who already meet university entry requirements but want to feel more confident and better prepared before starting their Master’s abroad.

Applicants should have IELTS 5.5 or Cambridge B2 (or equivalent).

If your English level is slightly below this, you can take a preparatory English course before joining the programme.

Students can choose between:

  • Accelerated Programme: 10 weeks
  • Standard Programme: 20 weeks

Both include academic English, research methods, and postgraduate study skills, along with university application guidance and one-to-one advising.

Successful completion guarantees entry to NCUK partner universities offering Master’s degrees in business, management, marketing, hospitality, and related fields.

AIHM College counsellors help each student select the right programme and destination based on academic and career goals.

The MP offers flexible start dates, typically January and September, allowing you to begin when it best fits your schedule.
