JAKARTA, Indonesia — 18 August 2026 — The Asian Institute of Hospitality & Management (AIHM), represented by COO Chris Meylan, joined university leaders from 15 premier Thai higher education institutions for the “Business Delegation for Education Services in Indonesia 2026”. ” It was organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Thai Trade Center Jakarta. The three-day program was hosted at The Westin Hotel Jakarta. Its goal was to strengthen academic connectivity and expand educational partnerships between Thailand and Indonesia.
Business Matching Sessions with Indonesian Universities and Agencies
Meylan and fellow delegation members held structured B2B meetings with nine Indonesian universities and five leading educational agencies. Discussions centered on joint degree programs, research collaborations, student exchange programs, and faculty mobility. These talks laid the groundwork for long-term academic cooperation between the two countries.
AIHM Showcases Hospitality Education at the Study in Thailand Education Expo
At the Education Expo, AIHM presented its hospitality management programs and English-taught curriculum. The institute also shared scholarship opportunities with prospective Indonesian students, parents, and academic counselors. AIHM highlighted its global approach to developing future hospitality professionals for ASEAN and international job markets.
Campus Visits to Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Pelita Harapan
Delegation members, including Meylan, conducted official campus visits to Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Pelita Harapan to strengthen institutional relationships and explore avenues for sustained academic collaboration.
AIHM’s Commitment to ASEAN Academic Mobility
Through its participation, AIHM reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international academic partnerships. The delegation also created new opportunities for student and faculty mobility across the ASEAN region. The initiative positioned Thailand as a competitive regional education hub. It also laid the groundwork for expanded exchange in academics, students, faculty, and research between Thailand, Indonesia, and ASEAN.
