FAQs

What is the English for Business and Academic Studies (EBAS) course?

The English for Business and Academic Studies (EBAS) course is an intensive English programme that helps you build the language skills needed to study at AIHM and communicate confidently in business or academic settings.

You will practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing through real-life topics and interactive lessons designed to improve fluency and confidence.

The EBAS course is perfect for students planning to enter the [BBA in Global Hospitality Management] at AIHM.

It’s also an excellent option for professionals who want to improve their English for work or study in an international environment. Both young and mature learners are welcome.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and meet one of the following English levels:

  • IELTS 4.5
  • TOEFL iBT 52–60, or TOEFL Paper 477–510

Before the course begins, students take the Versant by Pearson test to assess their current English skills. Results help teachers tailor lessons to individual needs.

The full course runs for 18 weeks, with classes three days per week, six hours per day.

Students who already have IELTS 5.0 may choose a shorter 8-week version for faster progress.

The EBAS course helps students progress from about IELTS 4.5 to IELTS 5.5, the level required for entry into AIHM’s BBA in Global Hospitality Management.

Teachers provide regular feedback so students can track progress across all four language skills.

The EBAS programme is practical and highly interactive. Instead of memorising grammar rules, you will use English in real situations — through group discussions, roleplays, presentations, games, and project-based learning.

Lessons connect English with business, hospitality, and everyday communication, helping you build skills that are immediately useful inside and outside the classroom.

All EBAS instructors are experienced, qualified English teachers—many of them native speakers—with professional certification in teaching English as a foreign language.

They focus on active learning, confidence building, and personalised feedback for each student.

You can always find the most up-to-date information on AIHM’s [Tuition & Fees page].

There, you’ll see a clear breakdown of tuition, fees, and other costs for the English for Business and Academic Studies (EBAS) course—as well as for every other AIHM academic programme.

The EBAS course builds both language and study skills essential for success in the BBA in Global Hospitality Management.

You’ll learn to read academic texts, write short essays, join class discussions, and give professional presentations in English.

When you finish, you’ll be ready to study confidently in AIHM’s international classroom.
