What is the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma?

The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma is an internationally recognised pre-university qualification from Pearson UK, designed to prepare students for university study or early-career employment in business, marketing, tourism, or hospitality.

This qualification combines academic learning with practical projects, helping students gain real-world skills and confidence in English.

The BTEC Level 3 Diploma is ideal for students who:

  • Have completed high school (Mathayom 6, Year 12, GED, A Levels, or equivalent).
  • Want to begin a global business or hospitality career with a hands-on, English-medium qualification.
  • Plan to progress later to the [BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND)] or an international university degree.

Subjects cover the core foundations of business and marketing, such as:

  • Business Environment and Strategy
  • Marketing Principles and Customer Service
  • English for Business Communication
  • Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills
  • Hospitality and Tourism Industry Overview

 

Students also complete practical assignments and group projects focused on real business challenges.

Applicants should:

  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Have completed Mathayom 6, Year 12, GED, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have English proficiency around IELTS 4.5 (or equivalent).

Students with slightly lower English may join an English support course before starting.

  • International qualification: awarded by Pearson UK, accepted by universities and employers worldwide.
  • Bilingual teaching: English-medium instruction with Thai support where needed.
  • Industry connection: learn on AIHM’s hotel campus, founded by Minor Hotels—Thailand’s largest hotel group.
  • Real-world relevance: all assignments mirror actual business and hospitality practice.

Yes. Graduates can progress directly to the BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) at AIHM or apply to other international programmes in business, tourism, or hospitality management.

The BTEC Level 3 Diploma offers two main intakes each year — January and September.
