Everything you need to know about our professional programmes
Can I work while studying?
Yes! Both CIHA and PGD are designed for working professionals. PGD offers part-time (Saturday) and online (evening) options. Many students continue full-time employment while completing their programme, applying new knowledge directly at work.
What English level do I need?
Both programmes require IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent: TOEFL 525/70). If your level is slightly below, we offer English preparation courses to help you meet the requirement before starting.
When can I start?
We have 4 intakes per year: January, April, July, and October. Applications are accepted year-round, and early submission is encouraged for scholarship consideration.
Can I continue to a Master's degree?
PGD graduates can continue directly to Les Roches Master of Advanced Studies in Switzerland or Spain, completing the Master’s degree in just one additional semester. CIHA graduates can progress to our BBA programme first, then continue to PGD and Master’s.
Do I need hospitality experience for CIHA?
No hospitality experience is required. The Practical Arts semester provides a complete introduction to hotel operations. For career changers, you’ll complete a 6-month internship instead of the work-based project.
What's the difference between the work project and internship?
Current hotel employees complete a 6-month management project at their workplace. Career changers or those not currently in hospitality pursue a 6-month internship at a luxury hotel of their choice. Both provide hands-on leadership experience.
How long is the CIHA programme?
CIHA is a 1.5-year (three-semester) programme: Semester 1 covers Practical Arts, Semester 2 focuses on Hospitality Management, and Semester 3 is your work-based project or internship.
Do I need a bachelor's degree for PGD?
A bachelor’s degree is recommended but not required. Applicants without a degree can be accepted if they have at least 5 years of professional experience in a supervisory or management role.
What study formats are available for PGD?
Three formats: Full-time on campus (6 months coursework + 6 months project), Part-time weekends (Saturday 9:00-16:00), or Online evenings (Monday/Wednesday/Friday 18:00-20:00 GMT+7). All include the business field trip.
What is the Business Field Trip?
As part of the Minor Hotels family, you’ll get exclusive access to key industry players. The field trip includes behind-the-scenes operations visits, meetings with senior management, panel discussions with GMs, and networking with industry insiders.
How does the Master's pathway work?
After completing PGD, you can transfer directly to Les Roches Master of Advanced Studies in Switzerland or Spain. You’ll complete just one additional semester to earn your Master’s degree. Specializations include F&B Entrepreneurship, Luxury Tourism Marketing, and Leadership & Talent Management.

Can my company sponsor my studies?
Yes! Many employers sponsor team members. We work with HR departments to structure tailored development plans, flexible payment arrangements, and work-based projects that benefit both the individual and the company.
Is financial support available?
Yes. PGD offers 25% merit-based scholarships. CIHA offers scholarships up to 75% based on academic and financial standing. Awards are limited and reviewed on a rolling basis, so early application is encouraged.
